Possibly the closest we’ve been to seeing a new Legacy of Kain game since Defiance released in 2003.
If you’re a fan of the series, then you probably feel my overwhelming excitement at this possibility. I just really hope Square Enix doesn’t fuck anything up after buying out Eidos in 2009. Defiance was unsatisfying and with the current game technology and the right writers (Amy Hennig, writer for Crystal Dynamics/Naughty Dog, gets a little gay for my taste) this game could introduce the series to a whole new group, pave a way for a Blood Omen remake, and totally kick mass amounts of ass.
Shame that voice actor Tony Jay died a while back, but his character is done with in the series anyway. With all due respects, of course.
So yeah. Go read the thing, squeal like a girl as I did, and look at all the sweet concept art that was created for a game that they may not even make if we - the fanbase - don’t demand it.
Now I remember why I wanted to be a video game concept artist so bad when I was younger.
Recently I was on Call of Duty: Black Ops and saw a statistic pass that said worldwide online total hours spent playing since it released were at 600 million, or rather 68,000 YEARS.
Realizing that means 68,000 years of time that people could have spent progressing the human condition, inventing the future and/or maintaining the present was spent instead on just one single title multiplayer war game makes a person kind of hilariously nauseous.
